Community of Practice (CoP) Groups and COVID-19
The Community of Practice (CoP) groups at FINE takes place one time per month at the various regions service by FINE Infant Program. All FINE practitioners gather to collectively explore the various experiences faced within the field of Early Intervention. The goal of each CoP group meeting is to create a community of holding respect, transparency, kindness, and professional support to all practitioners working with young children and their caregivers. We believe that nurturing not only the families we serve, but also practitioners working with them can enhance our capacities to nurture relationships within ourselves which in return, improve confidence and competence in all Early Intervention practitioners significantly.
The current COVID-19 global crisis has been a tremendous adaptation process to our work with young children and their families. Our Community of Practice group meetings have been essential to helping practitioners hold each family’s unique circumstances in mind while everyone adapts to the new way of being in the present moment. We recognized the clinical implications and positive effects our practitioners bring to each teleservice session with coachingcaregivers supports their children’s development during these challenging times our world is facing.
